<div itemprop="description">Koval, Andrew - <br>MD-FRCSC. 1927 - 2016 <br> <br>Andy died peacefully on Howe Island on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Beloved husband of Helene Pratt for 35 years. Predeceased by eldest son David (JJ Koval). Loving father of Donald (Denise Girard), Anne (Owen Corrigan) and Susie. Much adored Grandfather of Sarah, Holly, Jesse, and Sam. Fondly remembered by his step-children Holly, Andy, Bill, Jim, and their children, and his ex-wife Jane Koval. Also survived by his sister Annie Cook (Tony) and their daughters Diane, Gillian and Cerys. Born in Stropkov, Slovakia, Andy emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 7 and settled in Kirkland Lake. He attended medical school at Western University, London, specializing in Internal Medicine. A dedicated doctor at the Hotel Dieu Hospital for over 30 years, he was also a beloved teacher of numerous medical students at Queen's University-Department of Medicine. He was a gentle man, who was modest and wise. A good listener, he always had time for you. He loved to dance and was an avid horseman and golfer. He will be much missed by family and friends. <br> <br>The family will be receiving friends at the ROBERT J. REID & SONS , "THE CHAPEL ON THE CORNER" , 309 Johnson Street, Kingston, on Saturday August 6th from 4-7pm. A celebration of Andy's life will be held at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, 961 King St W, on Sunday, August 21st from 2-5pm. Words of remembrance begin at 3pm. Expressions of sympathy, or memorial donations may be made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation</div>
