Suddenly and peacefully Mom decided to leave us to join her late beloved husband, Arthur R. Fowler (ret'd Capt. 2 RCHA) who passed August 7, 1997.

Lucile was born in Brantford, Ontario on May 11, 1920 to Dorothy V. (née Haire) and John F. Kitchen. Lucile graduated as an RN from St. Joseph's Hospital in Guelph, ON and received her post graduate diploma in psychiatric nursing from Brandon Hospital for Mental Diseases School of Nursing. Lucile joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served as a Nursing Sister with the rank of Lieutenant in Camp Borden, ON where she met the love of her life, our father.

Lucile is survived by her sister, Frances Miller, her brother-in-law, Robert (Helen) Fowler and their families and many more nieces and nephews; loving and most caring mother of Zoe MacKenzie, Rosemary Fowler and Jim (Lisa) Fowler. Lucile dearly loved her grandchildren, Jason (Tracy), Stephanie (Joe), Kory (Marie) and Tyler (Sheri) MacKenzie, Josh Macumber, Troy Gallagher, Melanie and Logan (Olivia) Fowler; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Courtney, Kirsten, Hayley Jo, Selena, Elle and Mimi, Madison and Morgan and great-great-grandchildren Ayanna and Lucile.

Lucile lived in many places throughout her life time; Brantford, ON, Paris, ON, Pasadena, CA, Haliburton, ON, Toronto, ON, Camp Borden, ON, Shilo, MB, Winnipeg, MB, Dartmouth, NS, where Lucile worked in Cole Harbour, NS at the Halifax County Rehab Centre for many years. Mom loved Nova Scotia and the people who lived there. Many remained friends. She had a kind word to say about everyone, always had a smile on her face and never forgot a birthday. Our mother amazed us! Lucile will be missed by many. There was a special place in her heart for her long-time friend Margaret Wheaton, Walton, Hants Co. N.S. where Lucile and Art owned the grocery store and the Whale Creek Campsite.

Our thanks to those who came to care for 'Lucy' as friends, personal care workers and family. She always looked forward to and appreciated your visits and chats. Cremation has taken place under direction of ROBERT J. REID & SONS - The Chapel on the Corner . There will be no service, but a celebration of life at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Lucile may be made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF), Palliative Care, St. Mary's of the Lake (Providence Care).
