Campbell : Elizabeth “Beth”

Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday December 8, 2015 in her 96th year. Predeceased by her loving husband, Ian Campbell. Cherished and loving mother of Peter (Barbara), Doug (Susan), Elspeth Christie (Don) and Rob (Cindy).

Warm. Thoughtful. Brilliant. Unselfish. Grammar aficionado and police. Beloved Matriarch.
Her life was a remarkable journey that started and ended at Kingston General Hospital, beginning on November 1, 1920. Elizabeth (‘Gomme’ to her 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren) Campbell will be remembered for her spirit of giving, kindness, and love. Gomme could solve the New York Times Crossword in 15 minutes, then put her grandchildren on her lap, get out the Scrabble board, and convince all of us that we beat her (which, for the record, was impossible at any age).
Gomme was the rarest type of person – selfless to a fault, witty, and always showing unconditional love and support to everyone in her family, without asking anything in return. She was special. She was loved. She is counted. Gomme will be missed for her infectious laugh, her hugs, and her smile. Thank you for making us feel prized, appreciated, and capable. Thank you for thinking of each of us as your hero. "Thanks a hundred" for enriching our lives. We love you, G.

The family will gather for a private graveside service to be held at the Cataraqui Cemetery in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kingston Public Library in her memory. http://www.kfpl.ca/support-your-library/donate-to-the-library
