Stanley Blackwell
June 3, 1929 - November 4, 2014
Blackwell, Stanley George Leonard
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing at home in Kingston on Tuesday November 4th, 2014 at age 85. Beloved husband of Joan (Cleasby). Dear father of Arlene Mullen (Robert) and Andrea Blackwell (Rick Bigelow) of Kingston. Loving grandfather to Kyle and Kristen (Jonathan). Predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Josephine (Vinden). Long-time member of Cataraqui Golf and Country Club. Stan loved weekend games with the family until his resignation due to failing health. Stan was a gentle soul, and always looking out for those around him. Quite the gentleman and an amazing dad and Grandfather. Not many his age would have been so involved with their grandchildren - he played Mr. Grandma!
In keeping with Stan’s wishes, cremation will take place followed by a private family memorial. In honour of Stan, donations can be made to the UHKF-Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choosing. Thank you to all Stan's Health Care Teams and a special thank you to Karen, Peggy, Steph and LCVI staff. Arrangements entrusted to Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home.
