He is fondly remembered by his brothers, Robert and Reginald, his sisters, Louise and Pat, his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and by his best friend, Wilf. He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Florence, his brothers, Wes, Raymond, Roger and John, and his sister, Marion. Ron was born on November 21, 1938 in Thorold, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Department of National Defence in 1958 and worked with the Signal Core in Petawawa, Gagetown and Kingston as well as serving 3 tours in Egypt and Cyprus with NATO. After retiring from the military, Ron continued to work tirelessly, helping seniors in the Kingston area maintain their homes and gardens. Everyone who knew Ron, loved him. He was kind and welcoming to all, gave generously of his time and asked nothing in return. He was known for working hard and never complaining. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, good sense of humour and love of music and dancing. Ron was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always there to support his children through good times and bad, and was adored by his grandchildren because he made everything fun. Ron&rsquo;s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Rideaucrest Home for their wonderful care. Funeral service will be held in Trinity Chapel, Lundy&rsquo;s Lane (at Batoche Avenue), CFB Kingston on Wednesday, September 10th at 11 am. Reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy, please consider making a donation to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario or Camp Maple Leaf.</div>
