Peacefully at home in Glenburnie surrounded by his family on March 12, 2014 at the age of 86
years. George was born on February 28, 1928 to George Henry "Harry" and Gladys Long
(Bean) of Kingston. Beloved husband of Muriel (nee Albertson). Dear father of Lorne (Cathy) of
Glenburnie, Robert (Linda) of Sydenham, Clinton of Kingston , and Julie of Glenburnie. Loving
Grandfather of John of Glenburnie, Shelby and Brandon of Sydenham, Chad and April of
Glenburnie and Kristina and Haley of Kingston. George is survived by a sister, Doreen Crockett
of Kingston.Special thanks to all those who have worked to make it possible to allow George the dignity of spending his last few months at home. These special people include case workers at the CCAC of Kingston, Dr. Kondor and the Palliative Care team. George received outstanding care from all of the PSW's and the hardworking nursing professionals from Paramed. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Lew Valliant who has provided George and his family with a life time of care and support.
In keeping with George's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment at Glenhaven Memorial
Gardens, Glenburnie. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Providence
Continuing Care St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated
