Brian Collingwood
August 6, 1938 - May 6, 2015
Brian passed away on May 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s of the Lake after a very brief illness, at the too-young age of 76. Beloved husband, best friend and soul mate of April Welsh. Proud dad to Matt (Lenna), Vancouver; Tim (Tracey), Coldwater; and Beth, Quesnel B.C. Happy grandpa to Gabrielle, Sarah, Isabelle and Spencer. Fondly remembered by first wife, Fran Curran. Predeceased by parents Ivan and Lillian (nee Black) Collingwood.
Brian loved to cook, garden, listen to an eclectic range of music, hike, travel. After retiring from MTO, Brian spent many happy summers RVing across Canada with April.
Brian was a long-time curler at RKCC, and spent many enjoyable hours volunteering in the kitchen and working on innumerable committees at the club. In short, he loved life.
In keeping with Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario with the family’s appreciation
