MORGAN, Barbara Margaret (nee Angus) - On May 24, 2015, peacefully, and bravely on her own terms at KGH. She was born on February 17, 1931 in Missoula, Montana to the late Dr. William and Dr. Margaret Angus, pre-deceased by husband and partner of more than 60 years, Owen Bentham Morgan (1928-2011) of Mussoorie, India. She leaves children David (Linda) of Kingston, Philip (Megan) of Perth, Allison of Kingston, Elspeth of Kingston, and Andrew (Daina) of Toronto, and brother James Angus (Lorna) of Kingston. She was a much loved Nana to William, Robert and Grant Morgan (Jess), Meg Dowd (Jamie) and Duncan Southall (Mary), and Sarah and Tristan Morgan, and Great-Nana to Owen and Emerson. The family background in the performing arts could be heard in her stories of play rehearsals in the living room of her parents' houses, seen in her enthusiasm for Gilbert & Sullivan productions throughout high school and in her passion for traditional church music. She met Owen at the Kingston Tennis Club; tennis remained an enduring passion to her. For decades Mom and Dad were a force to be reckoned with racing sailboats at the Kingston Yacht Club, and they were highly regarded as a race committee team. While raising her family she attained her undergraduate degree in Psychology (1978) and her Master of Arts (1980), both from Queen's, and was at the forefront of research in sleep and visual perception. An avid Bridge player, over many decades, she took pleasure in recounting the games she won. Helping others was central to her life - she was an incredibly generous woman. She was a key volunteer at CORK and the 1976 Sailing Olympics, a strong supporter of food banks and a long time devoted volunteer at KGH Emergency. She was immensely proud of her family and their accomplishments, which were often celebrated over lively, noisy dinners. Her keen wit and terrific sense of humour were appreciated by all of her family. Her family was everything to her. A heartfelt thank you to all who made the last while a bit easier. Flowers are graciously declined. Please consider a donation in Barbara's name to The University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario or the Asthma Research Unit).

The family will receive friends at the ROBERT J. REID & SONS FUNERAL HOME , "The Chapel on the Corner", 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street), on Wednesday, from 4pm-7pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:00pm. Private family interment at Cataraqui Cemetery. Reception to follow.
